Gold, Frankincense, and Rhubarb



A gift of home-grown rhubarb is the essence of spring. Regan's rhubarb became a perfect strawberry rhubarb pie and a tray of rhubarb-topped shortbread squares in my mother's hands. 


With the extra dough from the pie, we made a French apple tart, simple and sweet. Never underestimate the power of butter.
